Register Now!The Army goes rolling along...and so will you in this 60 minute AMRAP (As Many Rounds and Reps As Possible). The Army Birthday celebrations continue all weekend into Soldier Field next to Collier Community Fitness Center, with several fitness level options available. From beginner to advanced, you can sweat it out for the U.S. Army's 246th birthday!
The Unit with the most participation will be awarded the Espirit de Corps Trophy for the "1775" Army Birthday Workout.
Birthday cake will be available after each heat until supplies last.

60 Minute AMRAP (As Many Rounds and Reps As Possible)
17 Power Cleans
75 Air Squats
*Between each round, run 200 meters carrying each piece of your equipment. Between each weighted 200 meter run, run 200 meters unweighted.
For example, if a barbell is loaded to weigh 65 pounds, the first 200 meter run will be with one of the plates. The next 200 meter run is unweighted. The next 200 meter run is with the other plate, followed by an unweighted 200 meter run. Finally, the next 200 meter run is with the empty barbell, followed by an unweighted 200 meter run. At that time, the next round begins with 17 Power Cleans.
Participants will be breaking their 200 meters up across a 50 meter wide field, remaining in their own lane.
Scaling options include substituting Barbell Power Cleans with either Kettlebell Swings or Dumbbell Power Cleans. Additionally, the weight of the barbells in lanes may range from 45 pounds to 135 pounds. Participants may also choose to break the work up with a partner, alternating rounds by sharing equipment and a lane.
*All movement and scaling adjustments are subject to the direction of instructors to ensure safety and technique is appropriate for each participant's hour of work. Any individual in noncompliance with instructor direction will be guided to observe and support from the sidelines.

Each heat will be led through a brief warm up, review of the workout and a brief cool down. If you require extensive, specific warm up movements, please plan accordingly prior to the start of the heat. Individuals with limited Power Clean experience will be scaled accordingly.
Registration Information
Preregistration is open until Friday, June 11 at 12 p.m. or until heats fill up. Preregistration is by individual, not group. Register in advance at any Fitness Center front desk or online.
