Lifeguard Training Course Dates 
  • 26 April  1600-1800 |   Pre-Course Assessment
  • 27 April   0800-1630
  • 28 April   0800-1630

Pre-course assessment and 4 class days, all dates and times are inclusive for this course.

 

Lifeguard Training Course Details & Guidelines

  • Successful Completion of Pre-Course Assessment Mandatory
  • Mandatory Age Verification
    Participants must be at least 15 years of age. Proof of age is required on first day.
  • Come Prepared With The Following:
    • Swimsuit
    • Towel
    • Goggles
    • Contact Lens Case (If you wear contacts)
  • Course held at Collier Indoor Pool, Bldg. 1949
  • First class day will start in the Small Conference room (near the front desk) for attendance and age verification. First class day will include the prerequisite skills.
  • Participants who do not meet the course pre-requisites will not be able to continue in the class and a refund will be issued.

This is an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course for certification as a Lifeguard. All class sessions are mandatory. The pre-course assessment will be conducted on the first day of class.

PREREQUISITES 
For Age and Skills Proficiency

Pre-course skills assessment will be conducted during scheduled pre-course session:
  1. Swim 300 meters continuously using Front Crawl and Breaststroke
    300-meter Swim Consists of 12 Lengths or 6 Laps of Pool
    Goggles Permitted
  2. Timed Swim Skill Test Consists of:
    20-meter Swim
    Surface Dive to A Minimum Depth of 7 Feet
    Retrieve A 10-pound Object From The Bottom
    Return To Starting Point with Object (keeping face above water, and using legs only)
    Exit Water Within Allotted Time (skill must be completed without goggles; NO EXCEPTIONS)
  3. 2-minute Tread Water, Legs Only
Participants who do not meet the course prerequisites will not be able to continue the class.
